Our Coaches
Our qualified, experienced and professional coaches bring a mixture of counseling, training and development skill, and management experience to coaching. This means we are able to help our clients with personal and organisational aspects of their professional development to ensure focused and accelerated development of performance.

Individual and Small Group
Leadership Development Process

This carefully designed process is a unique and powerful intervention supporting key people to identify and develop their ability to influence and lead. It is designed for coaching individuals and small, intact workplace teams.
The process utilises reliable assessment to inform and focus a professional leadership development plan that enhances leadership and professional performance, work relationships and management up and down in the organisation. It Starts with the Leadership Report
The Leadership Report we provide is actually three reports in one – together they provide a sound basis for insight, understanding and development planning. they also stimulate accelerated professional development!
The Leadership Report uses FIRO-B®, expanded MBTI® and CIQ results to provide a description of relationship and leadership styles, communication style and impact.
The Leadership Report provides insight into a number of key development areas for management, leadership and career success including:

  • Leadership style,
  • Work-role fit & satisfaction,
  • How you work with teams,
  • What you expects from others,
  • Your bases of power and influence,
  • Your influence on the organisation's culture,
  • How you deal with change and stress, and
  • Predictable patterns of response to
    your communication style.

MBTI Expanded Interpretive Section
Many people have come across the Myers Briggs Type Inventory (MBTI) - a widely used self-assessment personality inventory that develops understanding of self and others via eight personality preferences.

The MBTI Expanded Interpretive Report, recommended here in support of accelerated development, is significantly more technical and rigorous, providing a solid foundation for accelerated and focused professional development.

The MBTI functions as a tool to help the developing professional:

  • Understand yourself and your behaviour,
  • Appreciate others so you can make constructive use of individual differences,
  • Utilise the different approaches individuals have to problems,
  • Enhance your ability to influence, and
  • Persuade and involve people in change.
  • Our use of MBTI in organisations has been to:
  • Leverage individuals' natural strengths,
  • Improve teamwork,
  • Improve understanding and assist people to adapt to differences in leadership, management and work style,
  • Enhance communication and positive influence,
  • Resolve conflict,
  • Coach individuals, and
  • Introduce and manage change.

FIRO-B
The Fundamental Interpersonal Relations-Orientation Behaviour is a short, but powerful self-report tool designed to measure behaviour that derives from interpersonal needs.
It provides individuals insight into and appreciation of interpersonal behaviours informing the developmental plan to increase interpersonal effectiveness and satisfaction in working with and relating to others. It is particularly powerful as a stimulus to insight and change in technical professionals whose frame of reference often results in lower levels of awareness and understanding in interpersonal relationships.

FIRO-B
FIRO-B was originally developed in 1958 by William Schutz to better understand interactions between people. It was first used to select sub-mariners for the U.S. navy and has since proved exceptionally useful in leadership and team development. We have used FIRO-B to help people:

  • Identify sources and dynamics of conflict patterns with others,
Understand leadership behaviour and leader-member relations,
  • Identify fit with organisational culture and it's implications,
  • Identify potential sources of conflict with organisational cultures,
  • Become aware of their interpersonal needs,
  • Become aware of how their needs may be perceived by others,
  • Design leadership development plans,
    Increase productivity of teams, and
  • Identify ways of optimising the contribution of individual team members.

CIQ
The Communication Impact Questionnaire (CIQ) is based on the personality model of transactional analysis developed by Eric Berne in the mid-1950's. It is a self-report instrument that identifies patterns in communication behaviours.
It is particularly useful in helping individuals recognise and predict the impact of their communication choices, break patterns and expand their options for responding in communication.

It identifies where changes in communication style are needed to maximise co-operation and commitment and minimise rebellion and power struggles, and specifies the nature of required change and can be used to monitor that change over time.
We have used the CIQ to help people:

  • Become aware of how others experience their communication
  • Inform changes in the way they communicate
  • Track changes in communication over time
  • Understand interpersonal conflict
  • Reduce conflict, resentment and rebellion
  • Increase understanding, positive influence and cooperation

Development Action Plan
The personalised report concludes with suggestions for development and the feedback process concludes with a detailed action plan and a list of resources for further exploration.

The report and the feedback process provide a platform, an impetus and a focus for accelerated professional development. It Continues with Coaching The Accelerated Development Process continues with individual or small group coaching as the action plan is implemented. Our business coaching accelerates and supports the professionals development of:

  • Professional and personal competence
Self-efficacy (the I-can-do belief critical to performance),
  • Knowledge, understanding and insight into organizational systems, politics and relationship dynamics, and
  • Strategic ability.

Where appropriate we link the professional into quality educational, training and development experiences or provide these ourselves.
The business coach provides:

  • A sounding board to improve and refine thinking,
  • A trustworthy and helpful source of feedback,
  • Challenge and support,
  • Encouragement and reinforcement for change,
  • New frameworks, models and concepts allowing the professional to break out of mental prisons into new ways of framing and defining business and management challenges,
  • Role training experiences for the development of new behaviours in communication, and
  • Formal assessment and recognition of competency development if desired.

The result is accelerated professional development.
